Sometimes synchronicity, or the mechanism of coincidence, plays tricks with your brain that makes you rub your eyes wondering if this is real or if you're dreaming.

Last week, the day after reading Pirate Latitudes, I went to see a play titled "mare liberum-new crusoe", a modern day version of a Hugo Robinson, philosopher, stranded on an uninhabited island, together with the pirate who had actually tossed Hugo off his luxury yacht.
One of the themes discussed is WHY pirates do what they do (whether that justifies it or not).

Thinking of the book I'd just read I could but smile and see how MC in his infinite wisdom had addressed yet another timeless issue.
History repeatedly repeats itself.

At the performance leaflets were distributed about the coming ICLN (international criminal law network) 8th annual conference, to be held December 10th in The Hague.
Their theme this year: New International Instruments in Fighting Piracy

WOW, he always knew what the hot topic would be!
I am reading Pirate Lat. slowly. Enjoying all the description, the way MC reels us into the tale.
In response to the comments of a future movie: I hope it's PG13 so it can be closer to the original. Hope Spielberg does not make it into a kids movie just to get the toys franchise etc.etc.....
